The young Tom hates muggle. He came to his mother's house. The house in woods. This house belongs to Gaunt, his fierce but poor grandfather. A serpent is the password to the house. In the house he found Morphin, the drunk uncle and after he killed two of his family, he changes his uncle mind and take his mother's locket

The snake is the one with him always. Probably the second curious thing to reborn after Voldemort's own death
